welcome Gary
I've had/have a car engined and bike engined MKIndy.
First, car engine...more relaxed to drive, more torque, good allround performer.
Bike engine, crazy revs, crazy noise, better handling due lighter weight, not as relaxed to drive.... but hey...crazy.
Its what you want at end of day, relaxed cruiser or all out racer.
I enjoyed both of them!

hi dave.......i love the revs a bike engine gives....and the noise but i worry about the longevity and reliability of the engine with such a weight penalty.....what kind of mileage did your bike engined mk have? did you have any reliabilty issues?

Hey  Gary
My current MK has a bike engine, a Kawasaki zzr1400, so its a bit more powerfull and i'd say more robust than your average 'blade and R1's. I've only done about 1000mls since engine installed so i can't comment on long term reliability.
All i know is, it's got BIG GRIN factor!

Hi gary
sorry about delay in reply, most kit owners give there car a full service at start of "blatting" season regardless of mileage, and even an intermediate oil change if neccesary.
I don't know if your local to our area, but there is our monthly meeting at tommorow Monday 9th, at The Pathfinders, Maltby, (near Inglby Barwick) Starts 8.00 ish.
All like minded enthusiasts welcome Very Happy

Hi Gary

I've owned an Indy like Dave's now for nearly 2 years it has a ZX900 Kawasaki motor and belive me it's had the death since i've owned it and never missed a beat on trackdays and crazy blat's out and about.
I think you'll find all the later bike engines from 2000 on will be pretty reliable if serviced regularly like Dave says.

If you go big engine route like a Hayabusa or even ZX14 it will cost you though you'r best buying one already done rather than converting one.

I owned a tiger before that with a tuned 2ltr pinto and have to say there is no comparison... bike engine all the way for me... Very Happy

Mark
